trials for poster

the butterflies were a little bit too much, and distracted the attention away from the words.
i also felt that they were too femine and would make the males that I approach feel like my project was mainly for women, when clearly it is for everyone :)

FINAL ARCH

new idea

expenses....

I researched into the prices for lighting, finding it to be quite expensive. Which has deterred me from this idea.

I then thought more into weddings, and some traditions. Such as the first dance, or the podium some couples marry on.

This scene from twilight has always left me feeling romantic, and i have always, always wanted to recreate this extremely american scene.

Ideas

colours/phrases to experiment with

would love to include lights, as they're perfect for creating a romantic atmosphere.

I have already discussed the use of flowers, and think that this project will revolve a lot around flowers

Robert Indiana

Robert Indiana took his artwork further. Taking what was simply just a print, and multiplying it massively in size, in to a huge sculpture for the whole of new york to see. Just as I want to take my photography further, I have taken inspiration from Robert Indiana, and want to do something bigger.

a little bit more information...

"The image was originally designed as a Christmas card for the Museum of Modern Art in 1964, and first exhibited as a sculpture in New York City in 1970. The original three-dimensional version of LOVE is made of COR-TEN steel and has been on exhibit at the Indianapolis Museum of Art since 1975.[1] The LOVE design has been reproduced in a variety of formats. Likewise, the sculpture has been recreated in multiple versions and a variety of colors, and is now on display around the world."

I loved this idea, taking 'love' and literally putting it where ever you felt like it. Just as love is everywhere 'love is in the air'. I've taken my original idea and expanded it to become something more than just photographs of people and their loved ones.
I'm going to create some sort of sculpture, lighting installation or archway that will enable me to invite people in to let me capture their love.

photography.

im a photographer, taking photographs is my most honoured and enjoyable talent. But I always do this, i want to prove that I can do more than just take photographs. So i've looked at installations to do with love, and believe me there is a lot out there.

Moodboard

Love

what do you think of when you think of love? Me, I replay scenes in romantic films, I think of brides walking down the aisle, and their first dance with there husband, I think of the love between family members, a father & son, a mother & daughter, an older person and their loyal dog. There is so much love around us, in so many different shapes and sizes. I want to do a project that shows this.

inspiring installations

flowers are always something that is associated with love, you give flowers to your loved ones on special occassons, you carry flowers on your wedding day and decorate rooms with huge bunches of flowers whenever you want to add that extra touch. you even leave flowers at a grave stone when you have lost a loved one. Flowers have everything to do with love.
This giant floral art installation appeared Park Avenue at 65th Street in Manhattan, New York, a long with bees and ladybirds. The exhibit is the work of artist Will Ryman.
