final images :)

Favourite Story

My favourite story of the day. This mans girlfriend has been in prison for the past year, and is due out in two weeks. He only has a few photos of her on his phone and has her name tattooed on his hand. He was almost in tears after telling me this and was so excited for her to be coming home.
 A true Bristol love story.

editing options

thumbnails from today

obviously where pets were involved I had to take a few more photographs just to I could capture them properly and had something to choose from.

I was very pleased with the first day of this, and was so glad the sun actually did come out as the lighting was perfect!
The final shot of the father and son was taken outside the pub at the end of my road, which originally was going to be one of my locations. The cars rushing by in the background didn't look as bad as I first expected, and I was actually extremely pleased with this shot!

time to edit :)

more ideas!

One woman we approached today, politely declined us, however she made a suggestion. Red Nose day is coming up, and all the children in the local primary school are doing something for it. She mentioned that if I wanted a huge collection of photographs for this project that if I was to go through the school, and gain permission this way then she is sure that most of the parents would be keen!

my helper :)

My helper with the sign I made so that he could run around asking people to come and have their photograph taken! I was surpised at how well people reacted to him, it was a great day! we're both freezing though!

Nice of the sun to come out when I needed it! only been waiting 2 weeks for it!!!

more problems!

My original plan was to take the arch into the center of town, where there would be so many people I'd probably have a que, however as the arch is quite large, it didn't fit in my mums car, and wouldn't fit in any of my friends. The only way I could possibly take the arch anywhere was to either carry it or borrow/hire a van.
this left me with very little option, but also more opportunity to make this project into something more on going, and long term. Why spend so much money, and invest so much time into something if it's only going to be used once. So keep a look out for more posters, and updates as to when I will be taking the arch somewhere new :)

To continue, I finally decided to carry the arch, along with my assistant, my step dad's son, (whom I wouldn't have been able to continue without) to the local park; an area used by many cyclists, dog walkers and mums & childrens, along with the odd couple or two walking through.

here is the final poster/ handout.

trials for poster

the butterflies were a little bit too much, and distracted the attention away from the words.
i also felt that they were too femine and would make the males that I approach feel like my project was mainly for women, when clearly it is for everyone :)

FINAL ARCH

new idea

expenses....

I researched into the prices for lighting, finding it to be quite expensive. Which has deterred me from this idea.

I then thought more into weddings, and some traditions. Such as the first dance, or the podium some couples marry on.

This scene from twilight has always left me feeling romantic, and i have always, always wanted to recreate this extremely american scene.

Ideas

colours/phrases to experiment with

would love to include lights, as they're perfect for creating a romantic atmosphere.

I have already discussed the use of flowers, and think that this project will revolve a lot around flowers

ribbon is delicate, and gorgeous to use to add a romantic touch.

possible colour scheme :) calm, innocent and pretty colours.

possible design for light show? pink areas are ribbon. small led lights attached to a wall?
